Thank you for replying. I know that the 'work from home' niche is very crowded and people are advised not to start a niche in this area. However, I am wondering if it would be allright to start a blog and write about the different types of work from home programs and books that I have come across with a type of review on some of them. I feel it is more realistic to do this than to say 'this is how you make money online'. Do you know what I am trying to say?
The trouble though is actually ranking well in the search engines with work from home related keywords.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Of course it's alright, but unless you have a seam that has not been already heavily mined, getting traffic will be a struggle.
You need to look at the cost (in time mainly) and the likely benefit. It may be worth it to you, you may feel you have the skills and/or the knowledge to outrank sites already out there, or to beat them at their own game, or it may be better to spend your time on something less competitive. Only you know.
The whole work from home thing intrigues me. I work from home. Never, not now or not before I worked from home, did I EVER feel the need to visit a site about it.
There are certainly plenty of work from home blogs out there but most of them are nothing more than commercial garbage.
