Is a certain famous rich guy who is obnoxious really anonymous? Can this be done?

I don't see why not.

I'm not sure how this relates. A person might be well-known, but he can still produce something quietly, without the connection being made known. In fact, being a "rich guy" would probably allow this person to better hide his authorship, should he so choose.

I realize that someone could easily author an ebook and sign it with a false name or no name at all. I'm wondering if it is possible to find the author's indentify after that. For example, how would you go about setting up all sorts of affiliates to market your ebook while never letting your identity be known or traceable?

Your identity as the author, or your identity, full-stop?

If you're running a site, selling a product, I don't see how you could (legally) keep all aspects of your identity private. Maybe you could set up some sort of corporation, and use that as the site identity...?

But I would think it would be simplicity itself to sell a product on the site and just not mention that you'd been the one that produced it.

Everyone knows who he is, and he admits he is the rich j himself when questioned (in fact, he seems like a reasonable guy).

The behaviour is more about marketing
