24K articles and my site is slowing down, need a good script

Hi everyone.

My site grew up to 24K articles in its database and seem that the script ArticleLive is getting on its knees. It is overloading my server, slowing drastically down and all other problems.

Does anyone know a similar script that can handle this amount of data without problem?
