I’m developing a site that offers printable images for kids to colorize. I would like to add some well-known characters, like Disney’s Mickey Mouse, 101 Dalmatians, and others. Does anyone knows what do I have to do to license this kind of content? It doesn’t necessary need to be from Disney, it could be from Pixar, Cartoon Network, etc.
I’ve seen a lot of lame coloring sites with Disney content. I don’t know if it is very easy to license – I hope so! – or if the sites have stolen the content. Anyway, any help in this matter will be welcome!
Thanks a lot,

Disney essentially have an internal police force who find and fine people misusing thier characters. So I would think official licencing will be a non starter.
Accept it ..and don't even think of trying to adapt one of their things a little ..
I saw the descend on an anime convention in California one year.. It was amazing, cops, federal agents, disney people, they just swarmed the place.. Checked every booth and vendor and every bag that was already purchased..
*shudders*
No, I’m not crazy enough to even think about stealing Disney’s content… But I’ve seen so many sites using 101 Dalmatians that I though
1) They’re stealing; or
2) It’s not that hard to get a license.
Yeap, I thought it might be an impossible mission…
But then… there are so many sites using their characters without a license! And what makes me mad is that my site will have to fight for traffic against all those sites with more interesting (stolen) content.
Do you know any other company with well-known characters that have a more accessible licensing policy? I don’t know, Betty Boop, Monsters inc, whatever?
Thanks a lot,
