Marketing to International Customers

check your logs - you'd be suprised what percenatge are from overseas

I recently went through my logs, and was greatly suprised to see how much was from overseas. A friend who works for a very large software company in California told me that something like 40% of their business is to Asia alone!

This is something that definetly needs to be factored in to site design, both in terms of making the site fully accessible to international customers, and in marketing to them. Any suggestions?

Hi Franklin,

add to that a lot of com, net, org etc domains are actually overseas. for example attglobal.net is workdwide, and it will read as that in the logs whether they are logging in from attglobal in London, Thailand or Outer Mondgolia!

Very small example.. it applies to many other multinational ISP/companies as well. If you count all com,net,org,etc etc domains as North American your estimate of overseas calls are still badly underinflated!
