I have a hard time writing articles on any content, even if its something I have knowledge in.

What are your ideas/tips on getting content for your site (other than those “free article” web sites)

What do you mean when you say article?

100 words, 300, 500, 1,000?

Some topics can be covered nicely with not that many words. If anything, stripping out the fluff and publishing just the core of a topic might be advisable on the web.

I write my own stuff, and believe me, I'm no writer.

Read the copywriting forum library. Tons of great stuff in there on how to write.

As far as getting copy they have some advice on that too but judging from your previous posts on how much money your making your not going to like the answers. it costs $$$ to get good content.

Some people swear elance and the like... I just don't have the money right now.

One of my cleint was also in the same boat, around 15 months back and he was also on the lookout for the content for his website, (cheap content, free sites etc...) untill he was advised by one of the member here in this forum only that there is nothing that can beat the Unique Content. It will let you sleep comfortably Versus sleepless nights when you have the duplicate content. He searched on google for the cheap content writers and believe me, he was able to get the quality content writers, (quality) with YOUR choice of keywords and YOU are the owner.

So try this and you can also have sleeps..Full night.

PS: Believe me, wherever he has used the unique content, he is least worried about. He does not chech rankings of those websites everyday ;)

Division123, if there was a source of lots of good free content about a particular subject, just about all the other webmasters who run a website about that subject would snap up the content and use it on their pages.

All of a sudden, it's not unique anymore and therefore not nearly as useful as good solid content. So the bottom line is that you need unique content. As mentioned before, you can get other people to do it for you, or you can research the subject from several angles and write an article yourself.

I personally think that writing is something that everyone can do. Sure, it might take some people 10 hours to write an article that would take other people 2 hours, but everyone can do it. And the more often that you write, then easier it becomes. It's the actual initial action of setting aside a few hours and writing that is the most difficult part.
