Automotive news content

need some pointers

Hi everyone,

I am developing an automotive site and one of the ideas I had was to include automotive news, categorized by the different makes. However upon further research, I discovered that all of the good news sources, such as manufacturer press releases and sites such as newspress.co.uk require you to register. Also they require that you be a journalist or have some other connection to the media in order to register. I was extremely disappointed by this, since I am no journalist. What I would like to ask all of you is there any other options for me out there? Maybe someone knows of a site(s) that offer automotive news feeds, be it a free service of paid. I would greatly appreciate if someone could point me in some direction.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, Brigs.

Note that the definition of "journalist" can be rather fluid these days. If you have a blog or publish news items on an automotive web site, you may well qualify as a journalist. Also, check the major press release sites (PRWeb, PRNewswire, etc.) for releases.

I am a journalist - but the registration process is just that - a simple registration.

If you run an automobile site, consider yourself an automobile journalist. Journalism is more or less a way to describe a kind of work thats all.
