Please suggest what are the rules to write a blog taking care that it is not considered as spamming. Can we have two blogs with the same content?

Good question. I run several blogs, with each blog focusing on a different niche market. For example, I have a blog on dogs, and another on politics.

Sometimes, I come across a news article focusing on dogs, but it deals with some kind of new legislation. That subject could just as well be published on either blog. And sometimes, I go ahead and cross-post the item on both blogs.

I don't see this as "unethical". Each blog has a different audience. In many cases, I actually make minor changes to the content so that it fits better with the theme of the blog.

As for other rules on writing blogs, I don't want to come out and say that there are any. At least, I don't respect any industry rules, if there are any. I know that some professional blog publishers, the ones that own and operate 50-100 different blogs, are very vocal about ad placement on weblogs. They don't like AdSense creatives that blend into the background colors, for example, because they think it's a "shady" business practice.

Also, they are very vocal about bloggers writing stuff that they cannot backup with facts. These big blog publishers want to gain the same respect as traditional news media, so they are very cautious about what they write.

But then again, they have several shareholders, and venture capitalists to answer to. They're under a lot of pressure to produce the bottom line. The rest of us bloggers are happy to make a few hundred bucks a month.

So, just do what you want to do man.

Thanks for your reply.
But one of my friends posted some blogs and got a spam notification from a blog directory owner saying that you are artificially trying to raise the page rank of your client website by just using blogs as an interface to create back links to your client website.

But I feel there is nothing wrong about it, afterall blogs are Marketing Media only. We may put comments about our own product and back link to the genuine pages. What is wrong in this?

Don't be concerned about what a "Blog Directory Site owner" thinks. Just write good blogs, and serve your readers well. If you need to crosspost an article to other blogs, do it, if you feel it will serve your readers well.

If you're doing it to boost backlinks to some other site, then perhaps people won't read your blog, and it won't make any difference.
