Offering specialist news feeds

not haiving any luck!

I run a travel web site and I have offered travel news feeds to other web masters but had no one take it up despite much promotion.

I have some javascript which the user just has to paste into their site.

I am surprised no one is interested in this free content as I would have jumped at the chance of having a free web feed that is travel related!

Any ideas or suggestions?

I may be interested if you have a rail-related one

Perhaps the problem is not with people not wanting what you have to offer, but in the way it is being offered. Perhaps you're not presenting the perceived benefits in the correct way (ie, correct for the target audience).

Are the webmaster's you're pitching with the offer the actual owners/decision makers?

Just a thought.

If it's JavaScript, then the visitors are seeing it, but not the search engines. Where is the value to the site owner? Well, there could be a little in that their site has the content for people to read and click away to another site, but I think that the preceived value is limited.

If however, you can provide the feeds so that there is text content that you can see when you look at the source of the page, like if you use PHP, ASP, CGI, etc., then you are adding content to the owner's site and that provides them with something that changes and should be more valuable to the search engines, and to them.

If what I am saying doesn't make sense, let me know and I can explain...
