company directory with descriptions lifted from company sites

Hi,
I am compiling a directory of 1000+ companies that sell red widgets. My directory will have one page each for those 1000+ companies. This one page synopsys contains description (copied from the about us page of the company..not verbatim..but with some changes and re phrasing), services/products paragraph (from the services/poducts page of the company web site) and finally contact info (email, www, address all from their web site).

As you can see there is lots of info thats copied from the web site of the company. I have contacted some of these companies and they are actually glad that we have an entry for them. I haven't contacted all of them but I intend to do that soon.

Do you see any copyright infringement here? Should I be carefull about any issues that may cause us problems in the future?

My plan is, if a company does not like what we have for them, I'll modify/delete it at the first request.

You should be fine because you are using their own data to represent the company and not using it for your own purpose without benefit to the company.

Having a policy of modify or removal on request from the owner is a must.
