Good morning,

I have a title that includes three words, all three words are important keywords. Should I put a comma between each word, or a dash or an underline, or does it matter?

Thank you

If it's the title, I'd just put spaces to make it easier for humans. Google seems to ignore punctuation even when searching for phrases included in quotes.

kw kw kw

or

kw ¦ kw ¦ kw

I was told that Google views a ¦ as a space.

Oh but let's say I want to say:

painters painting and portraits

How would you do it?

Just like that?

I would not do it that way.

Title is not only for Googlebot, it's for your prospects who search for valid information in the SERP (result page on Google.com). Make sure your title have your most important keywords AND make sure your prospects will want to click on it.

Lets say your keywords are "Canoe", "Vacations" and "Canada".

Title #1:
"Canoe, Vacations, Canada"

Title #2:
"Canoe vacations in Canada!"

Title #3
"20 best canoe vacations in Canada"

You'll get more click with #2 or #3 than #1. If there's a lot of competition for theses keywords, I would go for #2. With less competition (you are in the top 5 for theses kewwords), I would go with someting like #3. (Not sure this is correct English... Still learning your language!)

It is definitely something to play with. While your title is not only for the SE bots, as another poster mentioned, if your title is not good--you will never be ranked high enough for anyone to see your title to begin with.

good luck with it.
