Is Community Server Any Good?

I just set up a website and I'd like to grow a decent forum community there. I set up Community Server as my forums, but a couple people I've shown the site to so far said they'd heard bad things about Community Server...

So is it any good? Should I use a different forum package instead? If so, which one... phpBB?

Honestly speaking I have never heard of Community Server before therefore I'd suggest you to use phpBB (free) forum software. Depending on the size and purpose of your community you may choose VB as well.

Is this community server from Telligent?

We are considering it for a .NET platform. It runs a very well know asp.net web forum and thousands of others. I do hear a few rumblings thoug hand I would be interested to hera more....
