Hi, I launched a new forum 4 months ago, still in google sandbox. What is realistic in terms of growth (membership) after the one year mark?

That's a tough one to guess because it depends on the topic and audience. What are your expectations?

Forums generally are in decline, the rise of facebook & twitter and other social media sites / apps have seen to that. Even long standing established forums are a shadow of their former selves. I am sure there is the odd exception, but the general spiral for forums is downwards. Any new forum trying to get a foothold on the web is going to struggle, That's not to say it can't be done, just that it is very difficult.
