Spammers and promoters must be rejoicing. The block function on Twitter has been producing an error for hours.
I know some advocate following anyone who follows you, but I block a significant share of my new followers. My criteria for blocking are blatant spam, clearly automated account building, mindless posts of filler (quotes, old news, RTs), etc. It doesn't mean anything now, but I keep hoping Twitter will eventually apply some kind of quality ranking algo that will take blocks and other factors into account.
Very frustrating to be unable to work through my inbox, and Twitter can't blame World Cup traffic surges.
