Another bothersome newbie question.

Is there a way to set up an account , eg: user name and password to access a virtualhost public_html directory via FTP? If there is, ive found nothing as far as documentation or forums.

You'd need an FTP daemon. Apache is an HTTPD daemon.

Try ProFTPd.

Apache2 has a built-in FTP Deamon, we use it to and Iīm also wondering where itīs loggin FTP accesses as it seems it isnīt doing this by default, it only logs failed authentications for me

hey folks. are people using apache 2.0 on an open website as httpd? i think this is really unsecure, especially while using the new ftpd built in.

Am I sleeping? Anyone got a link to docs for this? I've never even heard of it, and can't find mention of it anywhere in the Apache2 docs.
