My problem is as follows:
I have a large amount of webspace purchased from our local webhost, and I desired to set it up with three separate accounts.
Account 1: Generic Sharing User
- This account would be used by our office staff to share files with vendors that wouldn't fit in an email.
Account 2: Backup User
- This account would be to hold a backup copy of our databases as an off-site backup.
Account 3: Website update User
- This account would update the website we host.
I talked to our webhost's tech support today and they created all of the above 'users'. However, each of these users can view the entire webspace, where as I wanted them to each be restricted to their chunk.
The tech support guy told me to use .htaccess files in each of the user's folders to set this up, but from what I've been reading, that isn't correct at all.
Can someone please enlighten me and perhaps point to a solution for this?
Thanks,
Casey
