Run asp pages through apache

IIS and Apache server configuration

How can i configure the apache server in Linux and IIS on the windows m/c in such a way that user doesn't see any change in the url but get the same asp page.

Not clear on what you're trying to do here. Are you load-balancing across multiple servers, some of which are Apache and some of which are IIS? Switching from one to the other permanently? Something else?

For that matter, I understand there to be several different ways of running ASP on Apache, each with their own quirks. I can't help much with those, since I don't do ASP and therefore have no experience with them, but I think it would be useful to anyone here who can help with that to know.

We want to switch to Linux due to some security reasons.
We have our web site is in ASP which is on IIS server. On the Linux m/c the web server is the apache. I want to configure the apache server with some other server which can process the ASP request.
There is a option that we change the whole code to PHP, but this will take much time as we are not having that much of expertise in that. There are tools but, if we migrate and some changes have to done, then problem come.

Now i think so i made clear, where i am struck.

Is a database involved or is it includes?

Yes, the database is on Microsoft Sql 2000. It is also on the same window's m/c on which my IIS.

I know there are a few threads on migration from IIS to Apache around here. (It's how I even knew ASP on Linux was possible.) You might try a site search for 'chilisoft asp'. [webmasterworld.com ], [webmasterworld.com ] for starters. There are more.

Do you want to keep the DB on M$ SQL or migrate that as well? There's probably some reprogramming to do if you want to migrate, though switching between SQL servers is generally not too too hard.

thanx.. this is the good option.
But there is a small problem.
right now we r not thinking of going for new things.. we just want 2 start the site as soon as possible..
B'coz. if we thingk of getting a chilisoft server it will take another month cycle as our indent policies r like that only :( can't help it that way.
So is there any other way out of this..

'fraid I don't know much more than that. I've never had to do it myself, 'cause I've never done anything in ASP. Anyone else?
