Is there a decent (pref free) editor that allows you to change the encoding of files, i.e. changing the encoding of .htaccess files for servers (Win, Unix, Mac)?

Do you actually mean encoding? or are you referring to the New Line characters used?

Encoding. For example, in BBEdit, you can change the file's encoding to suit the OS.

I use AEdiX from Kirys Tech 2000. It is free and gives you the "Save Mode" options of MS-Dos, Mac or *nix.
