Newbie to apache

I've just downloaded apapche http server, and was wondering if I could just use this as a server on a LAN? as I don't have a domain name, just an ip address is this posssible?

If so please can you explain to me how to do this.

Hi,

Yes that's possible, after installing you should be able to connect to it by opening up your browser and going to your computers LAN IP address eg. 'http://192.168.0.1'.
