new to apache please help

Hi,

I want to use apache as a testing server before I upload live to my external server where my site is hosted

I have succesfully installed the latest version of apache on windows XP HE using the msi installer. I created a new folder in the apache root and moved my site files into it so that I can test my site using [localhost...] and I can succesfully view my home page by using [localhost...] as [localhost...] just reveals my file directory

as you can probably tell im using asp pages with vbscript

Heres where the problems start

1. none of the vbscript works
2. when i view the site and click on links im prompted to open or save the asp page, when i choose open it opens dreamweaver?!
