The web server hosts a couple of low volume sites and and nothing else, the system is currently running happily with only a few Mb of available RAM.
I thought this might be due to a script that I was working on so I restarted the server and it went back to it's usual 10-20Mb, the next day after doing nothing on the machine it jumped back up.
I am pretty sure the system used to run with just 2 Apache processes, now there are 4 with one of them using all the available RAM.
Does anybody recognise this problem or know how I would fix it.
Thanks

This leads me to ask... How did you accomplish this change? -- Are you sure the old Apache installation was completely removed? We get a lot of reports of directories, files, and registry leftovers after attempting to remove the old Apache configuration, especially if anything "went wrong" during the upgrade.
Not much help, I guess, but knowing the background information might prove useful.
