I'm trying to transfer a domain from one server to another. When I transfer, or attempt to transfer, I get an error message fatal error in httpd config. New server techs say the admin on the old server needs to fix permissions or accesibility on the file so I can transfer domains.

The admin on the old server has not fixed the issue and doesn't really want to mess with the file as it could cause problems.

Do you know what the old server admin needs to do to the file so it stops giving fatal error so I can transfer domains off of there?

There are simply too many variables and not enough information to answer your question.

Perhaps the easiest fix would be to transfer *all* domains off the old server. At that point, this becomes a simple DNS issue -- all you have to do is update the DNS to point all domains to the new server, and then it won't matter if the old server has errors and the old server admin won't provide required support...

Don't put up with bad hosting service -- ever. There are simply too many better alternatives.

The problem is that I can't get any domain off that server let alone all of them. During transfer the fatal error with httpd config cpanel transfer could not access file error occurs and nothing transfers. The server admin can't/won't fix the problem so I can transfer stuff off. He also won't package up the domains and put it in a spot the new server admins can get to so they can transfer and set up the domains. The only way to get them off is to backup, download, upload, setup and then backup databases, and do the same. That would take forever for 39 domains on that host. I want to ditch this horrid host but I can't even get the domains off!
