Java Applets

Hi, I really hope some one can help me out here, my problem is with java applets.

I have installed apache and the jdk and have developed my simple applet on this machine. I have tested it with appletviewer and using firefox to access the site using my Internet IP address.

When I try and access it from another machine (on and off the LAN) the webpage loads fine, but the applet doesn't load. Firefox gives me "Applet appletname notloaded".

I am pretty new to apache so I am guessing I need to set something up in the config files. I thought it could be a router firewall problem, but I have tried accessing the site from a PC connected to the LAN using the server's local IP address, it still won't work!
