Forum Moderators: phranque
I have read that symbolic links are needed, but I have also read that they might not be needed. I was really hoping that someone could lay out the changes that must be made (and where to make them) in order to get a name based virtual domain up...
Thanks (in advance)
(PS i have no experience with virtual domains on Apache or Apache2, i have just found that most all the documentation out there is not for Apache2)
To prevent members wasting time posting background info, can you confirm that you've read these documents [httpd.apache.org]?
Jim
but in that article there is mention of
symlink from: /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/
Which i did not find mentioned on the apache documentaion page...
Whereas over here [ubuntuforums.org]
in the Ubuntu forum there is made mention of symlinking into sites-enbaled or a2ensite!
On petersblog.org/tags/69 (you have to scroll down to Ubuntu Apache2 Virtual Server) there is mention of the command '2ensite site2', but it sounds like the command didn't work for him, since he had to undo it!
I would not consider myself savvy enough to know how to undo damage done by command line alterations on my server- so i posted my question here hoping to get a more tangible solution.
Thank you
