Ending slash?

Ending slash in URL

Hi All
I'm running Apache 1.3.29. When I attempt to access my webpage with an ending slash on the URL e.g www.somedomain.com/ the server cannot be found. However if I remove the ending slash, the page loads.

What is causing this within Apache, and how to resolve it?
