Cpanel Account hacked into

,htacess file altered but how?

One of my webhosting account had been hacked so that my website redirects to another. Apparently the .htaccess file had been changed and the following addition found

RedirectMatch permanent ^/$
[newdomain...]

I have never given the Cpanel login to anyone. My other accounts on that server are unaffected. I wonder if anybody have any experience with this.

haven't had that, but I'm either crazier than I thought or every once in a while my htaccess files get deleted on a host or two. I thought it was the hosts doing it, but I could have been hacked I guess...
