[configserver.com...]

If you are unfamiliar CSF is easy to use web based GUI for managing the firewall and LFD is used to firewall multiple failed logins and other things. Not sure how commonly their products are used but CSF/LFD seems to be standard in WHM panel .

Not heard of it. There are alternatives (I am pretty sure webmin has a firewall module). There are also easy to use CLIs for firewalls like ufw, Suse's Yast if you use Suse. There are also some GUIs that let you create a firewall config on your desktop and copy the config file to your server.

If firewall config is your main concern is this not a Linux issue rather than an Apache one?

Yea I guess it is Linux but it's primarily for web server. Not sure how it compares with other products but It's packed with features and integrates with WHM/Cpanel. You can install and use it right in WHM panel. Every VPS I've had with WHM had it pre-installed by host presumably.
