Identifying source of redirect(s)

I have a few redirects for which I cannot identify the actual directive in .htaccess (or elsewhere). I've searched the net for a simple way to track down which file/line in the file is causing the redirect.

I've tried a few redirect trackers but they don't identify the redirect directive. Any hints as to how to do this?

Thanks

You might search your access logs for 300 - 304 responses and they would show you the resource that caused the response.

What kind of redirect? Protocol/canonicalization, or a redirect to some entirely different page?

How do you know the redirects are happening? That is, are you seeing 301/302 responses in logs, or do you yourself get redirected when you request some particular page?

They are redirects via the redirect directive in .htaccess going from site a to site b. (I'm closing some sites, and moving the best content to a new site).

I have a bunch or redirects, and obviously at least one is improperly setup. The problem is I can't find the specific directive in where it "ought" to be.

Lucy I don't think I'll ever be ready to respond to you again. So sorry.
