apache1.3 or apache2.0?

I read a message in <php and MySQL Web Development>, and the book said:
"
apache2.0 is threaded, and some PHP external libraries are not thread safe, so we recommend you use apache1.3
"
I plan to build a site by mambo or xoops, so install apache1.3 is better for me?
BTW, apache1.3 support 2 or more domains on one server(one IP)?

Hmm..

I use 2x on a bunch of sites and love it.

One caveat, I installed Mambo on two ensim boxes and it hosed both of them. One of them to the point where I had to have it re-imaged. I know this doesn't make any sense, cause Mambo is a great system, but that was my experience..

My recommendation is that you back everything up before installing Mambo, just in case.
