I used to run a small site on subdomain.example.com and I recently registered a new domain www.newdomain.com.

I'd like to redirect any request for any page on subdomain.example.com to www.newdomain.com/index.html. I think there is a way to do this with .htaccess and ReDirect, but I'm not sure.

Anyone know?

Hmmm, I was hoping someone was going to answer this. I have the same situation. A 20 page subdomain that I moved to a new domain.

I was just letting the pages 404, but all the pages are still in Yahoo. So I am considering a redirect too. I've tried a few things, but haven't been able to figure it out.

Since Google has already dropped the pages, I wonder if I should even bother now. But it caused the whole site to get sandboxed I believe. Not sure, still working it out.

Just do a 301, which is a permanent redirect. Do one for each page to each new page on the new site.

Do a search in Google for HTAccessible for a nice free tool to help you create the HTAcess file in the proper syntax.
