Hi,

I'm running Apache 2 on CentOS 6.3. The default Apache page comes up when I go to my address. But I've installed MediaWiki and it installed into a folder mediawiki in WWW. So to access it I have to go http : //xx.xx.xx.xx/mediawiki

What I want to do is make mediawiki my default site and I've tried everything and nothing seems to work. Does anyone know a way I can make this happen?

Also I am running Webmin that has the Apache plugin so I can edit it either way.

Thanks,
Rick

So to access it I have to go http : //xx.xx.xx.xx/mediawiki

Does xx.xx mean your IP address, your domain name or both?

I've tried everything and nothing seems to work.

Awright, come clean. Tell us exactly what you've tried and what happened when you tried it. The "seems to" sounds a bit ominous. It implies that you don't think it worked... but it may have had some side effect that you didn't notice.

When you say "default site" do you mean that when users ask for www.example.com they should be taken straight to the mediawiki directory? All users, all the time, including you?

Hi, Yes www.example.com/mediawiki

right now www.example.com takes me to the Apache default info page. I don't want to use www.example.com/mediawiki

xx means both.

What I've tried is moving the files which of course didn't work into the www folder and the html folder. I'm guessing I need to create a virtual host? I'm not sure what to do this is my first time using Apache. Basically I don't want to use www.example.com/mediawiki I want to just go to www.example to get to my mediawiki.
