How Do I Redirect All Traffic to www.Example.com?

If I visit my home page by entering example.com into my browser's address bar, my home page URL is example.com.

If I visit my home page by entering www.example.com into my browser's address bar, my home page URL is www.example.com.

If I visit my home page by clicking on an internal link, my home page URL is www.example.com/index.php.

Isn't this bad for the search engines?

Shouldn't I redirect all traffic to www.example.com?

If so, how do I do it in an SEO-friendly way?

Any help will be much appreciated.

Yes, since that's the form all your own internal links use.

The same way as the previous 520 people (a conservative estimate of 1 x week for ten years) who have asked about it in this forum.

While you're at it, make sure there are no /index.html files linked by that name. Bare / will do. At least 120 previous threads there too.

This question has come up almost every week for the last ten years.

Only four days has elapsed since the last time this was asked. :)
