Hey there,

Long time listener, first time poster here- am really looking forward to your help!

I'm helping out a client with his search results and was able to clean up his SERP fairly well in every location EXCEPT the location that he lives in, San Diego. For instance, in NYC if I type in his name the negative result is #10 or #11 in his results, while when he searches from San Diego, the negative result is #2 for him... very frustrating.

What makes it even more confusing to me is that the negative result is not even that optimized for his name OR for San Diego (both are only mentioned once, it is from businessreporter.net).

I'm looking for advice on how to better his results in San Diego- is there any advice you could give that would help make his results more consistant across various locations? Or methods for boosting the results I already created for him in San Diego? Thanks so much,

-Trevor

Firstly your observations re GEO serving of SERPs by Google, are already well known, and have been for years now :)..and have been discussed at length in many previous threads here, surprised you missed them..Secondly , as a "long time listener" you'd get more responses to your questions if you posted them in the correct forums .apache is not the one for questions about Geo targeted search results..

We'll put it down to "early post enthusiasm" :) ..no doubt an admin will be along to clean away the traces..:)

I like the sound of that :) In the meantime, if you have any links to those other threads you mentioned above it would be really helpful- I couldn't seem to find them.

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me. People in his home town are more likely to have heard of him, so they're more likely to be looking for criticisms. Contrarily: unless the negative comments made headlines all over the planet, googlers in New York wouldn't really care.

Now to see if post gets moved at the precise instant I hit Preview or Submit ;)
