Numeric String After Url

Ok this is strange.

As of today, a website of mine seems to suddenly be appending a random string of numbers after the url - but only in certain web browsers (Firefox, Chrome), not IE.

Example:

http://www.example.com/page#.T76CsdVYtas

This has only just started happening. Any ideas why? The .htaccess file has not changed in the last day so I am unsure what has prompted this.

Thanks

The problem seems to be because I added some javascript for a very popular social bookmarking widget onto the site. If I remove the code then this no longer occurs.

Does anyone know why this would happen?

It's nothing to worry about as the extra stuff after the # is an in-page named anchor.

It's not a duplicate URL.
