mod rewrite help

I'm trying to redirect oldsite.com/allpages and oldsite.com/directory/allpages to newsite.com/allpages...

i can usually get 1 or the other work, can any1 share how to do both? and yes, i know the 2 oldsites are 2 different locations...

What code have you tried so far?

Use a RewriteRule for each one.

By "different locations" do you simply mean different URLs? Or do you mean that they live on entirely different servers, or in different people's userspace, so they never see the same htaccess or config file?
