Hi

I just installed the latest version of WAMP. Now when I click

WAMP LocalHost

all I get is

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access / on this server.

I can fix this if I type in 127.0.0.1 in the address bar but I need Localhost.

Any Pointers please..

Thank you

WAMP LocalHost

What exactly does this link to? It should be "http://localhost/"

localhost should be defined in your Windows HOSTS file as pointing to 127.0.0.1 - so the two should have the same result.

I think you are right about the host file. It wasn't there. I used Windows Fixit to get it there again. But I still need to edit it. How can I edit the host file. It wont allow me to save the edits.

Sorry I meant [localhost...]

I followed your advice and went to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc to look for hosts. It wasn't there I then used the fixit on.

I un installed WAMP then installed it.. Now all is well

It looks like you've probably resolved this, but on WinVista (and possibly Win7) you can have permissions problems... you need to run your editor as Administrator.
