I have googlebot often looking for an ssl url, dont know why because i dont have https setup or use it. I am wondering whats the correct way to handle the request. Currently the request gets an error because ssl is not configured in apache for the site. Is there an etiquette for this? Should i just let the request fail with an error or handle some other way?

What error is being served up today?
If the resource exists in the non-ssl version and you want to capitalize on the traffic you could redirect.
