Hi I am new to this site and am hoping someone can help me with mod_rewrite for .cgi.

The site is dynamic, but I need to make it appear as though the pages are static html so that sites like Google will index my site properly.

At the moment I have to type the following URL to access my web pages:-

http://www.example.co.uk/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?cart_id=1121432917.14831&product=Head_Units&pid=28
or
http://www.example.co.uk/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?product=Head_Units

I want to be able to change the first one to something like:-

http://www.example.co.uk/cgi-bin/Head_Units/28.htm

I don't need the cart ID for anything, so this can be lost if needed.

and the second one to:-

http://www.example.co.uk/cgi-bin/product/Head_Units.htm

Hope I have explained this properly, thanks for any help you can give.

Kind regards

Chris J
