Changed network cards in my computer and now my server refuses to allow outside connections. Also when trying to go to connect on localhost it just downloads a file that say local host..... Connects localy on its ip however...

It's almost like its only allowing the connection from the older ip is was using or mac address.... really not sure.

What in the world is going on, i have even reinstalled with a new version of apache.

How are these 'outside connection' requests being made -- by IP address or by domain?

How and where is the DNS for your server resolved?

It goes by domain and its listening on port 80

DNS goes though dyndns.com since I dont have a static ip. If I turn my wireless nic card back on it works fine..... It's just refusing to work being hardwired.

Sounds like a mac address issue, seriously...

That's the only thing that would be different when you "only" change out the nic...

I had a customer that was using a server "at home" utilizing a specific ISP. The ISP would only allow the original NIC to connect. (they were utilizing the mac address in order to not allow sharing on the connection) Are you able to spoof the mac address on the new card? Do you have the old mac address?

perhaps you can contact your provider and tell them your situation, and that you had to replace the NIC, perhaps they can reset the connection for you.

Just a thought....

dang I was hoping it was not a mac address thing, but yeah it all points to that.
