Hi guys I need some Webmaster magic.

Basically at work we use Apache and tomcat etc etc and I used putty to load easyapache and then from there I went though that using the exciting profile to enable mbstring then I saved and compiled the build.

Then from there everything went haywire... we have multiple sites connected to apache and the http websites seemed to stay up but the tomcat websites went down with a HTTP 4 error i think i cant remember.

I then got a guy to try and fix it and he said he did this: "hacking the configuration files and symbolic links." from there the tomcat server came back up but all the http sites went down, they just display nothing when you goto domains (prowess.com.au)

the tomcat page is: "pro-stats.com.au" before the guy played around it I noticed when i used sFTP to login when i went to the tomcat shortcut folder thing under "/usr/local/jakarta" it was redirecting to "apache-tomcat-5.5.30" and not "5.5.25" where our files are, im not a pro in this at all so I am not sure if half the things I am saying are completely correct so I HUGELY need some help with this.

Cheers.

I would recommend that you restore the previously-working installation from backups, and bring in an expert consultant to work with you on getting the new configuration corrected.

This is likely to take several hours of on-site work. But it's likely to take several *weeks* of posting in forums to even get close to a solution... if ever. This problem just really sounds too complicated for someone to help you with unless they can sit down with you (and your dev team) and access the server directly.

An on-site "local expert" will be the cheapest/fastest solution, I think.
