Hi there,

Well I am a bit rusty on Apache and php settings hopefully I can get this figured out with someones help.

I am installing a new Zen Cart store – php based, I have been doing this for quite some time have set up several on line zen cart stores no problem, however a year or so ago I had a sys admin set up my new Centos 5 server and the way he set it up, I can't remember if he made some settings in Apache httpd.conf or what but when I run the install on Zen Cart I get an internal server error.

I think he told me at the time he either set up Apache or php config files or security settings such that all the shopping cart files / scripts had to be owned by Apache which I did do, I ran a chmod -R 777 apache.apache on all the zen cart store files they are now owned by apache as the other stores on my server are set to and up and running, then I ran the install script for the new store via browser and I got the internal server error, even though I can view my index.html page no problem whether or not it is owned by Apache.

So I think this is related to either Apache or php settings for running php scripts. Can anyone point me in the correct direction as to how to troubleshoot?

I am running Centos 5.3 and Apache 2.2.3 and php 5.1.6

Thanks

Step 1: Look at your server error log. What is the specific error?

Unfortunately, this may be the only step I'm competent to advise on with your set-up...

Do you know what directory the log is located in, on a centos 5.3 server?
