Hi,
I’ve got no experience with setting up the domain-hosting connection, so I’d like to ask you for help.
So far, I’ve understood, that I need to set hosting server’s IP on the domain administration side, and that’s what seems to work now. The domain is now redirected to the mainpage of my hostingprovider’s server. But what I have to write into the .htaccess file to define what username and its subfolder the domain should go on?

I’ve got mydomain.com and (free)hosting like username.hostingserver.com with only access to the html folder on ftp. What should I write into the .htaccess file to make the connection work?

(I'd like to do it using the .htaccess file, because my hosting is in fact a free hosting without any support. Rewriting is allowed on the server.)

Please help me!

If you wish to map multiple domains to the same filespace, you will need access to the server configuration files or you will need a dedicated (non-shared) IP address. Neither of these are likely to be available on free hosting. If there is some kind of "Control Panel" available, then you may be able to define one (or a limited number) of additional domains that the server should recognize and map to your filespace.

If none of these are available, I suggest that you look into a better grade of hosting. Cheap hosting is the most expensive of all over the long term, because "everything is difficult" -- or impossible to do. Taking "cheap" to the extreme, free hosting usually has so many limitations that it is not worth bothering with for anything but a simple "hobby site" or "personal site."
