help when installing from putty

Hi i have been given task to install the apache http server on my server and i am using PUTTY on WINDOWS to get into the SERVER...
and when i enter my user name and passwrd in commandline
then i am at root

then i got to cd /usr/src
then i do "ls"
where i can see the httpd-2.2.16 and also httpd-2.2.16.tar.gz

now what shall i do!
