mod proxy (reverse) via proxy

Can mod_proxy use a proxy itself when forwarding a request

Hallo,

I use apache 2.2 with mod_proxy to forward a subset of incoming request to another apache server. The problem i have is that both apache can only communicate through an external (not lie under my administration) proxy server.

Can i force mod_proxy to use a proxy server itself?

Do you have another idea to solve the prolem?
