Hi,
I have been trying to find out the way to reduce the apache load. The htaccess size is keep growing, size is increased to 500kb, having approx 300 url rewrite rules and of course it could be the cause of slow downing the apache performance.

I stumbled upon [an article about using a PHP "controller" to handle URL rewriting,] and I was wondering if this is better than the htaccess method.

If anyone have alternative solutions please let me know.

Thanks

You've something drastically WRONG.

My htaccess over 2,000 lines and just over 100kb.
