I am attempting to configure my apache 2.2 server on my laptop – running MS Windows XP home edition, V 2002 with Service Pack 3 with a wi-fi connection. I run into an error <os 10049> The requested address not valid in context :make_sock Could not bind to address 12.34.58.79:80 No listening sockets available Unable to open log. I have no idea what I am dealing with. Checked Microsoft.com, Apache helps and now here. Any insight what I may need to be doing?

Apache is attempting to bind to port 80, but you've already got some other server bound to that port. Disable or uninstall the IIS server installed by default with Windows XP Pro, or if you are running Skype or a similar application, re-configure it to use a port other than port 80.
