Redirecting Old URLS to Wordpress

I'm working on adding a Wordpress blog to my site. I've migrated all the content from my old CMS to Wordpress, but I'm having a problem redirecting the URLs.

Under the old CMS, the URL was:

www.mysite.com/index.php?id={articleid}

Under Wordpress the URL is:

www.mysite.com/index.php?p={articleid}

SO, now when somebody comes to my site through an old link, they are just redirected to the homepage. Ideally, I'd like them to be directed to the appropriate news article.

I've tried a few different things without success and am hoping somebody here might have some experience.

It's not clear what you've tried so far, but if that includes a rewrite or a redirect, please post your best-effort code as a basis for discussion.

Thanks,
Jim
