I am posting this here b/c my google searches seem to suggest that .htaccess had something to do with the issue.

Here is what happened

- all files & site was displayed online (http://www.example.com)
- installed FP extentions
- tried to upload files via frontpage & server would not let me.
- uninstalled Frontpage
- uploaded files via FTP instead
- refreshed page http://www.example.com & get error message as show on page.

What happened and how do i fix this?

Thanks in advance!

Bek

Hi Bek, and welcome to WebmasterWorld!

We do things a bit differently around here; Please see our Terms of Service, and please review the Charter of any forum you'd like to post in. Our policies are meant to keep the signal to noise ration high, as well as to avoid search ranking problems for sites linked here.

The best advice I can offer is to restore your server config files from your backup. Installing Frontpage extensions modifies several files, and it might be difficult to "guess" your way back to a correct configuration.

Also, if you are using a commercial hosting service, I would ask them for help, since they know the server configuration.
