I have renamed a subdirectory and search engines are still going to the old name

I get

Server Not Found
Error 404

example

old name abc.mydomin.com
new zyz.mydomain.com

Can someone help please. What do i write to redirect?

If all pages are the same you simply need to drop an .htaccess file in the root of old.mydomain.com that has the following:
Redirect 301 / http://new.example.com
