Which libwww-perl is best for Apache/1.3.22?

I'm hoping to test Andy Armstrong's reCAPTCHA [search.cpan.org] module, a Perl implementation of Carnegie Mellon's free reCAPTCHA [recaptcha.net] service.

Thing is, the reCAPTCHA mod requires assorted LWP mods -- and those mods require more LWP mods and so on, and so on.

Because I know just enough about "make" to inadvertently get into trouble, I plan on asking my SysAdmin to install libwww-perl [search.cpan.org]. Alas, a lot of Googling leaves the question of which, erm, vintage version is best with Apache 1.3.22 unanswered.

If it matters/helps:

Linux 2.4.17 (July, 2004)
Apache/1.3.22
Perl 5.006001

Perl libraries installed:
Library CGI 2.752
Library DBI 1.15
Library Digest::MD5 2.36

Any recommendations as to the best version of libwww-perl, please? (...Aside from upgrading the box and server software, that is:) Or should I simply go by chronology and pick a circa mid to late 2004 installation? Or--? TIA for any/all comments.
